The Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) brings together an interdisciplinary team of researchers from five prestigious Chilean universities: the University of Chile, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, the University of Valparaíso, the University of Concepción, and Adolfo Ibáñez University. It also boasts an extensive international collaboration network. MAS aims to prepare the Chilean astronomical community for the major paradigm shift that will come with the start of operations at the Vera Rubin Observatory and the new era of astronomy characterized by the handling of large amounts of data.
