The partnership between the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics MAS and La Comisión de Desafíos del Futuro del Senado (Chilean Commission for Future Challenges of the Senate) is from a long data, however, due to the pandemic all the in-person activities were suspended. This 2022, the project “Congreso Futuro en tu Comuna” was held again, closing its activities in the region of Aysén, with astronomy activities for all-ages students.
Knowing the history of the Universe, building nebulae and models of the Milky Way or learning about lunar craters recreating asteroid collisions is part of what Astronomy Tour in the region of Aysén will present, between November 2nd and 4th.
The activities, organized by “Congreso Futuro en tu Comuna” and the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics MASwill start at Mater Dei school in Coyhaique on November the 2nd, where the educational community will be invited to talk about the exhibition “Universe at a Small and Large Scale,that MAS carried out thanks to the PME projects by the Millennium Science Initiative , mounted in every establishment visited in the three days the event lasts.
Then, the MAS team would move into the Liceo Politécnico de Aysén high school,on October 3rd, where the talk «El Universo del ayer y de hoy» and a didactic workshop will take place. It will end up the same day at Liceo Raúl Broussain Campino high school,, con la conferencia magistral ¿Cómo reconstruir la historia de la Vía Láctea usando fósiles estelares?» y se desarrollará el taller «Una nebulosa en tus manos»Last, on November 4th, the activities will have its closure at Liceo San Felipe Benicio de Coyhaique high school,where besides the talk, children could discover how the lunar craters formed.
