Break the routine. Look up at the sky!

Encourage them to break the routine and look up at the sky. With this premise, two astronomers from the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) – Álvaro Rojas Arriagada and Rodrigo Contreras Ramos – took to the streets with nothing more than a telescope and an invitation: look up. This invitation resonated with passersby who were at that time passing through Constitution Square at the main entrance of La Moneda Palace, the center of government in Chile.

The reactions were diverse, but mostly of surprise at seeing in great detail an object that accompanies us most nights without attracting much of our attention. An experience that we will repeat in different public spaces throughout our country in an improvised manner, allowing us to appreciate what we often overlook, such as the magic of the night sky.

The video was inspired by a similar experience that took place in California by National Geographic.
