MAS launches App to learn astronomy by playing

It is a digital sticker album, which evokes the habit of collecting stickers but now on mobile devices.

The FIFA world cup 2022 album brings back to life the love of collecting stickers for an album to keep it as a memory. But what if, instead of buying the stickers, you could play to earn them and learn while we complete the album?

That is what the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics MAS propose, which through its outreach program ObservaMAS, created the virtual album “Universo, Juega, Pega y Aprende,”inviting to go on a tour around the Cosmos from the closest thing to Earth to the deep Universe. More than 200 collectable stickers are divided into 20 astronomical issues, designed by MAS astronomers Melissa Hobson and Felipe Gran.Likewise, it has illustrations drawn by astronomer Tracy Catalán.Along with the 20 topics, it encourages us to also know about the story of renowned scientists, who can also be used as avatars during the journey. Best of all, it has more than 20 games and challenges that will allow one to obtain sticker envelopes plus energy to keep playing.

“Universo, Juega y Aprende” is free on Google Play and AppStore for iOS, and you can find it as Álbum Virtual MAS Universo (only in Spanish).
