During these 10 years, MAS conducted science at the highest level. Scientists from the center published nearly 2,000 scientific papers in prestigious journals. At the same time, its outreach program, ObservaMAS, reached around three million people through hundreds of fully organized activities and dozens of developed products, all accessible for free.
While waiting for the new Contest Funding for Centers of Excellence by ANID to open and MAS to apply for its continuation, support funding from the same agency began to be implemented in July. In this new phase, the composition of its teams has undergone some changes.
Francisco Förster (U. Chile) and Susana Eyheramendy (UAI) take on the roles of Director and Deputy Director, respectively
Patricia Arévalo (UV), José Luis Prieto (UDP), and Guillermo Cabrera (UdeC) take on roles as principal investigators. Additionally, the latter will lead the ALeRCE project.
Zhen Guo (UV), Mary Loli Martínez (UV), and Nina Hernitscheck (UA) join as junior researchers, a category that will now also include Lorena Hernández, who was previously a MAS postdoc. Meanwhile, Alejandra Muñoz, who was also a postdoctoral researcher, will take on the role of Data Scientist for ALeRCE."
