MAS will improve techniques for distance measurements including Cepheids, eclipsing binaries and RR Lyrae stars for the Local Universe, SNe Ia for galaxies in the Hubble flow, and SNe II from low to high redshifts.[:es]<\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13102\" src=\"http:\/\/www.astrofisicamas.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/supenova.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Descubrimiento y caracterizaci\u00f3n de supernovas y su uso como indicadores de distancia<\/h2>\n<p>El MAS realizar\u00e1 sondeos masivos con el fin de: (1) establecer conjuntos de datos completos de supernovas brillantes y j\u00f3venes (SNs) gracias a observaciones sistem\u00e1ticas de longitud de ondas m\u00faltiples, t\u00e9cnicas m\u00faltiples y alta cadencia; (2) medir \u00edndices s\u00f3lidos e imparciales para supernovas sobre un gran rango redshift, complementado por una caracterizaci\u00f3n completa de sus galaxias anfitrionas.
