Es una enorme esfera de plasma (gas muy caliente que est\u00e1 ionizado), compuesta principalmente de Hidr\u00f3geno y Helio. En su centro se produce la energ\u00eda que llega a nosotros como luz y calor. La energ\u00eda producida en el Sol es tan poderosa que gracias a ella la Tierra es como es, y los seres vivos tambi\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile is-style-default\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/astrofisicamas.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/proxima-centauri.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29956 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/astrofisicamas.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/proxima-centauri.jpg 624w, https:\/\/astrofisicamas.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/proxima-centauri-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/astrofisicamas.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/proxima-centauri-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"is-style-info\">El Sol se encuentra a 150 millones de kil\u00f3metros de nosotros, y por esa raz\u00f3n es la \u00fanica estrella que podemos observar y conocer de cerca. Estudiarla entonces es fundamental. La luz se genera en un proceso llamado <strong>fusi\u00f3n nuclear<\/strong>. Este proceso requiere de temperaturas y presiones muy altas como las que se encuentran en el centro del Sol (15 millones de grados Celsius), lo cual fuerza a \u00e1tomos de hidr\u00f3geno a unirse y formar \u00e1tomos m\u00e1s grandes: el helio. En este proceso se libera energ\u00eda en forma de <strong>fotones<\/strong>, la cual mantiene al Sol caliente y en equilibrio. El hidr\u00f3geno es el combustible del Sol, y cuando este se acabe empezar\u00e1 un nuevo proceso que lo acercar\u00e1 m\u00e1s al final de su vida. Esto ocurrir\u00e1 en unos 5 mil millones de a\u00f1os, ya que el Sol se encuentra aproximadamente en la mitad de su vida (se form\u00f3 hace unos 4.500 millones de a\u00f1os).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 15%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Si bien el proceso de fusi\u00f3n es muy corto (fracciones de segundo), la luz que genera no puede simplemente salir hacia la superficie del Sol. En esta capa, el fot\u00f3n atraviesa dos tercios de su camino hacia la superficie y se transporta por difusi\u00f3n radiativa. Esto es muy similar a como se difunde el calor que sale de una estufa. Podemos sentir el calor de la estufa sin necesidad de tocarla. La luz viaja a trav\u00e9s de la zona radiativa zigzagueando y no en una l\u00ednea recta y es por eso que en el mural representados con l\u00edneas curvas que se mueve en todas direcciones. Los distintos colores que puedes apreciar muestran las diferentes temperaturas de los fotones: mientras m\u00e1s cerca del n\u00facleo son m\u00e1s azules y moradas, es decir, est\u00e1n m\u00e1s calientes, que aquellos que empiezan a salir de la zona radiativa.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-coblocks-dynamic-separator is-style-line\" style=\"height:50px\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-top is-style-default\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 27%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">La segunda capa a la que llega nuestro fot\u00f3n es la <strong>zona convectiva<\/strong>. En esta capa, el material del Sol tiene un movimiento circular en donde el plasma caliente asciende y el plasma fr\u00edo desciende, como si fuera las burbujas del agua hirviendo en una olla. El agua en contacto con la hornalla se encuentra m\u00e1s caliente que el agua que est\u00e1 en la superficie de la olla. Esto produce que el agua caliente ascienda en forma de burbujas mientras que el agua que se encuentra en la superficie desciende. Se encuentra a mucho menor temperatura, aproximadamente a 5600 grados Celsius. En este punto nuestro fot\u00f3n puede salir e iniciar su camino hacia nosotros. La fot\u00f3sfera es una zona muy activa y en ocasiones puede dar origen a las manchas solares, a las llamaradas solares y a las protuberancias (<em>prominence<\/em>). Las manchas solares tienden a ocurrir en pares conectados por campos magn\u00e9ticos que atrapan el gas de la atm\u00f3sfera solar formando protuberancias solares. Cuando estas protuberancias se rompen pueden formar una llamarada solar con part\u00edculas cargadas de alta energ\u00eda, que puedes apreciar en el mural como unas l\u00edneas rojas saliendo del Sol. Corresponde a su atm\u00f3sfera y se extiende a millones de kil\u00f3metros en el espacio exterior. Esta capa es muy tenue y es m\u00e1s visible durante eclipses solares. Curiosamente, la temperatura de la corona es bastante alta, de 1 mill\u00f3n de grados Celsius, pero la raz\u00f3n de ello es a\u00fan es un misterio. En la corona solar es dondese origina el viento solar, el que, si va en la direcci\u00f3n de la Tierra, puede crear tormentas geomagn\u00e9ticas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-coblocks-dynamic-separator is-style-line\" style=\"height:50px\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Finalmente, la luz solar sale del Sol, y uno de los caminos que puede tomar es hacia nuestro planeta Tierra. El fot\u00f3n tiene un viaje muy r\u00e1pido hasta nuestro planeta comparado con todo su viaje en el interior del Sol. Un fot\u00f3n toma alrededor de <strong>8 minutos y 22 segundos en alcanzar la Tierra<\/strong>. Pero recuerden que su verdadero viaje comenz\u00f3 en el n\u00facleo del Sol.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-info\">El viaje de los cientos de miles a\u00f1os del fot\u00f3n llega a su fin, alcanzando la Tierra para sustentar la vida en nuestro planeta. As\u00ed tambi\u00e9n llega a nuestros ojos, que, junto con el cerebro, interpretan la luz recibida para reconocer, dar colores y adaptarnos al mundo que nos rodea. La luz solar nos provee de vitamina D, el calor y la energ\u00eda para poder hacer nuestras vidas a diario.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Co-creaci\u00f3n Infomural El is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<p>Este mural es una co-creaci\u00f3n entre el Instituto Milenio de Astrof\u00edsica MAS, los artistas de Info Murales Cient\u00edficos y Fundaci\u00f3n Mundo Ideal. Se realiz\u00f3 un encuentro con la comunidad de la Fundaci\u00f3n a quien no solo se les explic\u00f3 el tema del mural, sino que tambi\u00e9n se les anim\u00f3 a compartir sus ideas y conocimientos sobre el Sol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la conversaci\u00f3n integrantes de Mundo Ideal expresaron su inquietud acerca del efecto que tiene la luz solar en el cuerpo humano y c\u00f3mo \u00e9sta es percibida por nuestros ojos.
